Well, you're talking about amazonia here, so there are the articles I found at the greenpeace sites

This is the article at the Greenpeace international site:
"German rock band Scorpions call for action to stop deforestation in the Amazon and fight climate change, during their concert in Manaus, Amazon, Brazil. The band is supporting the Greenpeace campaign to end the continued clearing and burning of the Amazon rainforests. The concert is part of the band's "Humanity World Tour 2007". Over the last 40 years, the Amazon has lost some 700,000 square kilometers of forests, an area twice the size of Germany."

"Manaus (AM), Brazil – German Rock Band shows, at the stage, a message from Greenpeace about the Amazonian Rainforest's importance to save the global climate
About 30 thousand people watched last thursday, 9, the concert of the German rock band Scorpions in Manaus (AM). To call the crowd's attention about the dangers of the Amazon deforestation and its consequences to the climate changes, the musician guys has showed a banner with the alert “Stop deforastation! No Amazon, no future!”. The message, produced by Greenpeace, also was showed at the “big screens” (I don’t know the right translation for “telões”) at the moment that the band has arrived at the stage.
“We know that we’re not the first ones doing this, but we came to Amazônia to show to the world the situattion of the tropical forests and we get the opportunity to learn more about the Greenpeace’s action to stop deforestation”, has said the vocalist Klaus Meine. He also make clear that the purpouse of this tour is to make people, by some way, thinking about the humanity’s way to deal with the world.
The coordinator of the Amazonia campaign, Greenpeace, Paulo Adário, gave the congratulations to the musician guys for the iniciative and for showing the message about the urgency of stopping the Amazon deforestation. “The deforestation must be stopped, the global climate and the future of the life on Earth” has said Adário.
The concert in amazonia will be recorded at the DVD Live in Manaus"
I'm really really proud!
